This one-day course looks at the basics of how to nurture newly planted fruit trees - watering, feeding, disease prevention and pest control. It includes apple cookery, juice-making on a traditional apple press (which is available for hire to community groups) and ideas for celebrating the apple harvest. Stanmer Park, Brighton BN1 9PZ. Course fee (depending on income) £55-£145. Free places for Local Fruit Futures orchard leaders.
