FILM: Severn at Village Hall

April 8, 2011 from 8pm to 10pm
Sadly we have been unable to obtain a license to show the advertised film Severn at this time and will hope to be able to include it in next season's programme. Instead we have a double bill of two very topical films, one about nuclear power and the other a very funny but insightful film - Robert Newman's 'History of Oil'.  Into EternityEvery day, the world over, large amounts of high-level radioactive waste created by nuclear power plants is placed in interim storages, which are vulnerable to…See More

Storytelling for Times of Transition2nd May 2010Transition Tales 1 Day Course in Forest Row!Transition Tales are visions of a positive future. They help us imagine together a world in which we are meeting present day challenges, they can entice us to take the next step and affirm that, however small that step might feel, it's part of making the future we’d like a reality. They are also an especially effective way of engaging the creativity and imagination of young people. In March 2010…See More

I'm planning some vision building events for the autumn; one for a community wide consultation, another event for those already involved in transition Forest Row to brainstorm creatively together around what the future might look and feel like. Dates to be posted soon.

Its ok, I am aware I sent it too late last night. I met Pupak and we started talking and identifying areas and concepts to introduced in school and brainstormed some ideas.
We need to find who in the school we need to talk to and what is their expectation.
Can we move this discussion to email it makes it much easier to communicate between several people. If you email me I'll start an Education and skills group in Google and we can have a more open discussion.

Dear Charlene,

Thanks for your comment. Sounds like a great idea! I hope you (and your group) could help out on this idea, as I am very involved in the overall organisation of the day, but also of the Forest Row Festival, which runs during that weekend as well.

I am in Holland at the moment and will only be back in FR when school starts in September.
Please get in touch nearer the time.
There will be Festival meetings (including the cycling day ) on every Thursday from the 4th September running up to the Festival at Woodcote, Park Road F.R .(Marc & my house).
7.30 onwards, bring food/drink to share
Please come along!

Have a good summer,

Suzanne

I've just found this gentle but clever little film - A World without Jam.. made by the WI.... have you seen it? May be helpful in a visioning type event with others....? Something to show during the film festival?....worth watching to the end of part 2 ! ;-)
